Most business leaders see climate change as a catalyst for innovation in their industries, according to a survey.
However, almost half of respondents don’t believe there is sufficient advice available on how to help businesses progress their sustainability.
Two-thirds believe financial constraints are the main obstacle preventing their organisations from achieving net zero.
The survey was carried out among 400 international business leaders at a Congress of Business staged as part of Glasgow Climate Week.
Stuart Patrick, chief executive, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, said: “Business leaders want to go further, but the economic restrictions prevent them from doing so. Access to finance is key for any growing business, but it is vital within the context of sustainable growth.
Without addressing this, we risk missing out on the tremendous job and wealth creation that comes with operating a sustainable economy.”
